Living in Los Angeles, it was easy to "imagine that I was living here", as Anne would say. But were AMJ and Leo ready for the realities of a Canadian winter that was predicted to be the most severe in years after all their time in warm climes? You betcha. Getting back into the snow groove wasn't as much of an adjustment as it might have been (both Leo and AMJ are originally from cold places) - although it was still an adjustment! Despite having to learn how to drive in snowy conditions (for Leo, that's "re-learn"), they still managed to have a wintry look around the Island, and these pictures will help break the stereotype that it's only gorgeous in spring and summer!

Point Prim looks more like Superman's Fortress of Solitude than a spot on PEI!

The lighthouse at Point Prim - with Leo watching his step.

Stratford, PEI looks quite a bit like a postcard - but it's real!

Work on 9LoLMM doesn't halt during winter. Here AMJ takes footage of a snowstorm that will be used to show how Maud was snowed in with her grandmother.

Bellevue Cove, only this time in winter. Looks entirely different!

Another angle of Bellevue Cove.

AMJ finds himself constantly taking pictures, trying to capture his first winter since 1976.

Of course, Cavendish had to be visited. Here's the famous tourist mall - without tourists.

Cavendish Beach. Yes, that one!

The usual roar of the sea is silenced by choking ice and frozen waters.

Proof positive that PEI is every bit as gorgeous during the winter. You can't get colour combinations like this anywhere else!

Cavendish Beach lies in chilly wait for the Anne 2008 visitors. But this is what they're missing!
