The Nine Lives of L.M. Montgomery

Doing a show always involves a lot more than just doing a show. There are ads to place, photos to have taken, and myriad other things that help get the word out - many of which can be found on the Press page. Yes, they appeared on PEI radio shows and did mini-performances at such places as the Charlottetown Visitor Centre. But then the cast and crew of Nine Lives found themselves wondering how much of what they were doing was merely asking the public for something - specifically, to come see their show. That's when they decided to give something back. They left their costumes at the Carrefour and dug into their repertoires, taking their talents to several senior living facilities on the Island so they could bring a little theatre to those who weren't as able to get to one. And, as they continued bringing the life of a woman who struggled with clinical depression to the stage, they realized they could do even more to help - they contacted the Canadian Mental Health Association and arranged for one of their performances to be a benefit, with half the proceeds going to programs and services that promote mental health. It was quite a way to wrap up their two thousand nine season. What's next for The Nine Lives of L.M. Montgomery? ninelivesoflmm.com is where you'll hear about it first!
